Every year Groundwork Hertfordshire deliver hundreds of projects to improve the quality of the local environment, the lives of local people and the success of local businesses in communities across the county. All this activity requires substantial funding and would not be possible without the support of our partners. In 2007-2008 we completed 125 environmental regeneration projects. It is vital that we continue to secure funding to sustain and build upon our work with many of the most disadvantaged communities in Hertfordshire.
There are a number of ways in which you can support Groundwork Hertfordshire:
We can ensure that your money gets to where it is most needed and that it supports projects of most interest to you. Every donation, however big or small, can make a real difference to people's lives. That means any contribution you make, large or small, is worth much more than the original sum donated.
Your donation will be used on a variety of local projects, including community gardens in disadvantaged areas, cycle paths and environmental education in schools. To read more about future projects that we need funding for click here
Here are some examples of what your donation could achieve:
£40 could pay for a qualified education officer to run a session with a group of school
children, teaching them about growing their own healthy vegetables
£150 could build a raised planting bed for a group of people with disabilities, giving
them access to the delights of gardening
£250 could pay for a qualified youth worker to run 4 sessions with a group of
unemployed teenagers on a local nature reserve, teaching them
practical skills they could use in the workforce
£1,000 could buy the childrens play equipment for a new play area on a deprived estate,
giving children the chance to play outside
